Good news at last!

As you might have read in the below posts, my week hasn't been going too great. Well today I finally received some good news!

Having finished my degree at Bangor a few weeks back, the first thing I thought was, what next? You have as much chance finding a media related job in North Wales as you have finding ANY decent job in North Wales, lol. Dave & I have spoken about the future & we do plan on moving away someday, after we have completed all forms of education/establishing ourselves. Don't get me wrong, I feel so lucky to live where we do & we have a great house home, that I wish I could just zap to any part of the world! However, in the meantime, until we're ready to move, we'll be staying in Benllech, Anglesey.

So anyway, I've looked around at different M.A courses, anywhere but Bangor University. Don't get me wrong, there are some great people that teach in the media department, however if I was to write a good/bad point list - the bad list would be slightly longer. Saying that, if Bangor did offer a decent M.A course, specialising in documentary/film making I would probably go back (because it is so close to home) - but they just don't have the equipment, plus in my third & final year when I was doing my dissertation documentary, first year students had more prority over me using the computers (editing suites) & camera equipment - which I thought was just ridiculous.

I finally narrowed my search down to two or three courses at two different Universities. One was a Wildlife documentary production course, which I would have loved (when I was little I would tell my mum that I wanted to 'be a David Attenborough', lol). I'm still a massive fan of nature documentaries. However, that course was very popular & full up this year & I don't like the idea of sitting around for a year, so I had a look at another course - Television Documentary Production that a friend of mine also reccommended. I've seen where it has taken him so I figured it must be a pretty decent course!

A few weeks back I applied for this course & yesterday I received an email saying that I had been selected for an interview! I am so stoked, if I get onto this course, it means I'll be moving to Salford, Manchester for a year! I alwayyys wanted to go further away to do my Bachelors degree - but I met Dave while he was at Bangor, so I went to Bangor too, so we could spend all our time together, plus it was just convenient at the time. So, I'll finally get the chance to be a 'real' student, lol.

Like I said, my fingers are still crossed & I'll post more information as soon as I get it :)
