On Wednesday (*edit - Wednesday 9th June), we went down to Bedford for a few days, because Dave was graduating from Cranfield University the next day! He passed his Masters course in Applied Bioinformatics (don't ask)! So on Wednesday, we drove to Bedford, which took around 5 hours (with stops). We stopped off at a place called Crown Carvery, Dave & his parents all had the all you can eat carvery for only £3.59. Dave said it was very delicious too - it tasted like it had actually been cooked slowly, not frozen vegetables etc... so yeah, I recommend this place!
On Wednesday night, we just got into the hotel, unpacked then Dave, his dad & I went to a few local pubs. There had been a darts night in one of the pubs & the landlady had lots of leftover sandwiches & chips, so we had those for dinner before going home, rather than paying for take out food! I came off the diet for these three days - luckily no weight was put on, even after a lot of kit kats, white chocolate cadbury buttons & Pizza (well, one big slice, lol). Then the next day, it was graduation day!!
