This is going to be a short post because Dave & I are going out for dinner tonight, plus I have nothing too exciting to write about. It has however, been a good day today!
My laptop which is back from repair has not played up at all yet. Basically, it would freeze up completely [if I was online/offline/doing work - anything] & you couldn't do the Ctrl+Alt+Delete because the cursor wouldn't move, even the clock stopped. The only way of making it work again, would be to hold down the On/Off button & restarting it. The first time it actually froze was the first day I had it - Christmas/New Year last year. But, since Dave had put a lot of money towards it, I kept it to myself - I guess I didn't want to disappoint him. We called Acer a LOT & they were NO help whatsoever - it would always be an Indian call centre, where they spoke very, very little english. In the end we sent it off just before Christmas & they apparantly found nothing wrong with it - saying it must be the software...
To cut a long story short, Dave has reformatted my whole laptop, plus he's found an extra 10Gb [The recovery partition] for me to use. My laptop has great spec & I'm glad it's finally working, faster than before, without freezing. Fingers crossed it will not freeze, ever again.
The other good news is that my Dad came around today to fix the washer dryer. It turned out, when he pulled the top off the machine, there was a 'stone' [weight thing?] on top of the drum & it had become very loose. This is what was causing the 'Machine Gun' noise, because it was whacking into the things either side of it. My brother Lloyd tightened it up for us & now I've just washed my clothes & heard nothing. Well, nothing compared to the awful noise we've been putting up with the last few weeks!
